Jan Lane Memorial Scholarship
The Jan Lane Memorial Scholarship was established in 2025 in memory of Jan Lane by her children and the Blodgett-Summit Community Club. Jan was a devoted and energetic member of the community, serving as president of the Club for many years. She was also well-known as the lunch lady at Blodgett Elementary School and for her tireless dedication to local fundraising efforts — sorting pop cans, organizing jog-a-thons, and leading the beloved Dime-a-Dip fundraisers which brought neighbors together.
The Blodgett-Summit Community Club, founded in 1939, was created to fundraise, support, and provide opportunities for the local community. Over the years, the club has raised money through a variety of events, always with the goal of offering scholarships to Blodgett-Summit youth. The first scholarships were for just $100 each, and through continued community support, the club has now endowed three separate scholarships, ensuring this tradition of giving back to and supporting these communities continues for generations to come.
The Philomath Community Foundation (PCF) will award this $500.00 scholarship to a Philomath School District graduating senior.
