Please take your time, read application questions thoroughly and complete the application as instructed. In some cases you may be asked to get a teacher or counselor's signature or input. Please do not leave anything blank. If you have questions, you should contact your school counselor. If needed, they will contact the Foundation on your behalf for further information and clarification. We look forward to receiving your application for one of our scholarships!

Adjust Your Sails Scholarship

Selection for the recipient of this scholarship will place emphasis on students who have overcome some form of hardship (physical, emotional, health, etc.) and who have successfully “adjusted” their lives in response.

Art and Marilyn Bervin Linn-Benton Community College Scholarship

The Philomath Community Foundation (PCF) will award $1,000.00 per year for this two-year scholarship to a Philomath School District graduating senior who will be attending Linn-Benton Community College.

​

Bruce and Steven Moos Memorial Scholarship

The Philomath Community Foundation (PCF) will award this $1,200.00 scholarship to a Philomath School District graduating senior from the Blodgett-Summit community. Student must have attended the Blodgett Elementary school for a minimum of two academic years. Preference will be given to a student who has shown academic commitment as well as active involvement in extracurricular activities.

Cody James Patterson Memorial Scholarship

Measures used to select the recipient of this scholarship will be based on students who have shown that they have demonstrated the attributes which Cody held:  leadership, dependability, sportsmanship, citizenship, and who participated in high school athletic programs.

Jan Lane Memorial Scholarship

This scholarship will provide financial assistance to a student from the Blodgett-Summit community. Student must have attended the Blodgett Elementary school for a minimum of two academic years. Preference will be given to a student who has shown academic commitment as well as active involvement in extracurricular activities. The Philomath Community Foundation (PCF) will award this $500.00 scholarship to a Philomath School District graduating senior.

Lilly Paytrah Memorial Scholarship

A $1,000 scholarship will be awarded to a Philomath School District graduating senior who plans to pursue a certification or degree in the mental health field at an accredited university or a community college.

 

McRae-Dickey STEM Scholarship

This scholarship will be awarded to a student who plans to enroll in a college or university to pursue a Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering (including Robotics), Mathematics or Computer Science.

McRae-Dickey STEM+ Scholarship

This scholarship will be awarded to a student who is active in music and/or the performing arts and who plans to enroll in a college or university to pursue a Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering (including Robotics), Mathematics or Computer Science.

Philomath Forward Scholarship

The Philomath Forward Scholarship is awarded over a 4-year time span.

Public Schools Scholarship

This scholarship will be awarded to a student who plans to enroll in post-high school educational programs with the intent of pursuing a higher education degree.

​

Russ Hunt Memorial Scholarship

Emphasis for selection of a recipient will be placed upon recognizing students who will enroll in post-high school educational programs with the intent of pursuing a higher education degree.

​

Terry Selby Memorial Scholarship

The purpose of this scholarship is to assist an outstanding Forestry student with his/her pursuit of further education.  Priority will be placed on students who have completed the School of Forestry or Forest Management programs in the Philomath School District.

​

Vocational-Technical Scholarship

To receive this scholarship the applicant must be enrolled in a community college or vocational-technical program with the goal of receiving a degree or certification in a skilled profession.

​

Youth Recognition Award

Emphasis on selecting a recipient for this award will be based on the applicant’s community service participation.

SCHOLARSHIP PHILOSOPHY

Philomath Community Foundation aims to provide  scholarships  so students can continue their educational journeys. With the costs of education steadily rising, talented, deserving students face financial needs unseen by previous generations, and many need financial assistance to be able to pursue higher education.

SCHOLARSHIPS UPDATE

Four new scholarship were created at PCF in 2025. Applications for these will be accepted starting January 1, 2026.

IMPORTANT DATES TO REMEMBER
January 1

PDF Applications: Avoid using an outdated form. Wait until Jan. 1 of the year in which you  plan to submit an application to print or download it. 

April 15

Applications Deadline,  All scholarship applications and award applications must be submitted to the Philomath High School Guidance Center by April 15 at 4 p.m. (If the 15th falls on the weekend, the due date is the following Monday at 4 p.m.) Late applications will not be considered.

June

Philomath Community Foundation scholarships and awards will be announced at the Philomath High School Honors Convocation 6:00 p.m,

December 31

Scholarship Recipient Info Deadline.  Recipients must contact PCF  and provide information by Dec. 31 See the back of the award certificate for instructions. Without information from recipient,  PCF  will be unable to distribute scholarship money.
